Simon X Ryuko

So I just recently caught up to watching Kill La Kill, which I had been wanting to watch since Hiroyuki Imaishi is directing it, and Gurren Lagann is up there in the top 3 of my favorite animes... so... same director and a very similar artstyle and... dare I say... formula? I was weary at first, due to the high insane over-the-top mantra the show pushed at my face (although yes Gurren Lagann had this, though not as prominent and the story was laid out sooner and more, eh, seriously), but the show quickly grew on me, as I learned that, that is its purpose; to be wild and crazy. Even though, on these last few episodes the plot has changed and the tone of the show has become a bit more serious, despite it's ongoing over-the-top indulgences. It has seriously given me some Gurren lagann vibes. Differences aside, KLK has one of the better protagonists I've seen in a while. I love Ryuko's personality. If Buttercup from the Powerpuff Girls would've ever grown to be a teenager, that teenager would be Ryuko. And that's awesome; I loved Buttercup and Ryuko in my head is a grown up version of that. Tomboys are the best.

ANYWHO, ABOUT THE DEVIATION: It's not really shipping, I just figured since the shows are alike in some ways, there needed to be a good picture of both protagonists in a awkward yet friendly situation. So whipped this up as fast as I could! Because, why not!
